new beginnings

writer: Miranda

Naming my first post as “new beginnings” sounds repetitive, and I’m fully aware of that. I have recently reflected on how my life is marked by constant beginnings and endings, whether that’s with friendships, interests, or hobbies. We all have fleeting obsessions, and I used to struggle with letting things go that I once enjoyed. It’s like holding onto that one piece of clothing that no longer fits you, but reminds you of a time when you were happy, even if for a moment.

I’d like to examine the moments in life that we should let float away, and only live on in our memories and photo albums, as well as during nostalgic conversations. We could call it the “art of loving and letting go”.

I used to view love as something you needed to commit to without diversion. That’s an unrealistic view, though, because you can love things and people without needing them around you. I have learned to love from a distance to protect myself from falling back into patterns that weren’t good for me. I like to look back at versions of myself and love them, but I know that I have outgrown them.

Let’s learn to love and let love.
